Dream with us on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

“Free at last, free at last, thank God, we are free at last,” echoes in my heart.

And “we shall overcome, someday …” practically sings itself out loud on this holiday celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

I take a moment to be still and let these words and their music wash over me and call me forth to recognize in my sisters and brothers the dignity that sets us free and sends us down the road, side by side, working together for better days.

Join me in giving thanks to God for the gift that this man has been and continues to be for us all, enticing us toward that community of the beloved where compassion, service and responsibility are the order of the day.

And pray with me: “With you, O God, we are a liberating force of love in our world today!”

Peace to one and all, deep down and all along the way.

DREAM WITH US

Today, to honor Dr. King’s legacy, we encourage all dreamers in the CFCA community to share their dreams. We invite you to visit the CFCA “Rise and Dream” website and inspire others with your own dream — big, small, profound or humorous.

And, while you are there, read the dreams of others, including the 13 young scholars who share their stories in the CFCA documentary film, “Rise and Dream.”
